Teacher. Writer. Seeker of Joy.

About Me

I’m a 6th-grade English teacher, writer, and lifelong believer in the magic of stories. I have a degree in English Education and a Master’s Graduate Certificate in Youth Development. In my classroom, I teach writing as a platform for my students to explore their identities, their sociocultural context, and their agency. I believes deeply in the power of writing as a tool for positive transformation, both personally and societally, and this is a consistent theme in my work.

I write fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry, and I’ve grown my craft through workshops with Writing By Writers and the Art of Writing Workshop. My writing has been published in Black Fox Literary Magazine. I love stories that surprise, move, and linger: the ones that make you laugh in one moment and ache in the next. One of the first books to do that for me was Little Women, where I felt the deep pull of sisterhood reflected in my own life.

I’m a hopeless romantic and a little quirky, drawn to things that are offbeat, heartfelt, and filled with wonder. I believe in unexpected connections, in writing as a way to make sense of ourselves, and in the kind of magic that exists in small, everyday moments.

When I’m not teaching or writing, you can find me birding in the hilly streets of San Francisco with my husband, getting lost in stories big and small, or hanging out with our black cat, Murphy—who, I’m convinced, knows a few secrets of the universe.
